The competition between Apple and Android is heating up on all fronts and recent ads are just one example. Gone are the days in which Google advertises Google, Samsung advertises Samsung, and Apple advertises Apple.
These things always make me laugh. As technology advances, in many ways it really regresses. For example, as eBook readers improve, the metric is how close the quality of the screen is to a real book. It reminds me of the fantastic cartoon below.
I have a problem. I don’t learn from my mistakes. Let me explain. When Twitter launched and people started telling me I need to get on this new micro blogging platform, I, like many others said “Another Facebook but shorter? Why do I need to update my status in two places?” I was wrong.
While some old-school BlackBerry lovers might be mourning over the recent news, it is pretty clear to almost everyone that RIM is R.I.P. Some made the prediction at the end of 2011 that 2012 would be the year that RIM either goes bankrupt or sells out. Others are now talking about Samsung possibly buying the Canadian mobile giant, but Samsung itself has denied such rumors.
The next time someone tells you that the app ecosystem is too saturated for you to succeed as an app developer, you can point them to this article. If you have an idea for an app, and it’s a good one that has not been done before, you are not competing against the millions of other apps out there, your only obstacle to success is yourself. Let me explain.
CES is behind us and I am not the only one who is overly impressed with Nokia and Microsoft’s comeback in the mobile space. The new Nokia Lumia 900 won the Best Phone of CES, and the interwebs are buzzing (shameless plug on that link) about this up and coming platform.

The impossible has happened. I have officially been labeled a “Windows Phone Fanboy”. If the people who called me that over the past few weeks only knew how much I despised my Windows Mobile device back in the day or about my vow to never buy a PC again, they would realize how ridiculous that title is. The thing is, I have been using a Windows Phone device for a few weeks now and I can’t stop writing about it.

A 1.3 mp camera. It blew my mind. “How did no one think of this years ago?” I thought.
