Xobni Brings BlackBerry Email to the 21st Century

Xobni Brings BlackBerry Email to the 21st Century

When I first got my BlackBerry, which I expected to be the ultimate email machine, there were some things that left me wanting more. There was the whole lack of two way syncing with Gmail, which meant that everything I deleted from my inbox on my computer would require a second deletion from my BlackBerry. The other thing that left me scratching my head was the way the BlackBerry did not save contact information of people with whom you are communicating.

DomainTyper App – for Idea People

DomainTyper App – for Idea People

I have new ideas for new blogs and websites all the time. Mostly, this means I end up scribbling ideas down on a napkin somewhere, or digging for the notebook I keep in my purse – if I’ve remembered it.

One Man’s Trash? The (Unofficial) Craigslist iPhone App

Everyone who’s ever moved from one place into a new place can probably testify that Craigslist.org is their best friend during the whole process. Have a couch you’re not taking with you? Post it, sell it, move on. Need a couch at the new place? Search it, buy it, find a friend with a truck to help you haul it.

Why Everyone Who Ever Travels MUST Download, Use and Revere the TripIt App

Why Everyone Who Ever Travels MUST Download, Use and Revere the TripIt App

I love traveling. I took 10 trips in three months last summer, visited LA three separate times, Chicago three separate times, NYC and Las Vegas for the first time ever and saw old friends in Colorado and family in Alabama.

I fly OFTEN, and I love the convenience of things like online booking and how easy it can be to figure out public transportation in an unfamiliar place thanks to Google Maps. Up until recently, I’d keep all of this organized by keeping a folder in my carry-on bag. In it, you could find the printed out copies of my boarding pass, my itinerary as printed out from Orbitz.com, Expedia.com, or whatever other booking service I used, my hotel confirmation, and other travel information I needed such as maps, and bus and train schedules.

Dropbox Brings the Cloud to the iPad, Android, and Other Apps

I think it is not an exaggerated statement to say that 90% of all online buzz is somehow connected to a very small number of primary topics or words. Words like Twitter, social media, location, and cloud computing. To focus on the last of those words, cloud computing has really started to become a leading trend, with the guiding light being of course, Google.

Floating Image for Android Will Make Sure You Are Kept Busy

One of the problems with the Android platform as opposed to let’s say (and I am just picking another random mobile OS) the iPhone, is its lack of rich multimedia capabilities. I mean, the Android video and music player as well as its photo viewer is not as primitive as BlackBerry’s, but it is also not homerun.

Apple Hiding iPhone Radiation Stats from Users

Apple Hiding iPhone Radiation Stats from Users

As a blogger who often writes about mobile matters both here and on other sites, I spend a lot of time in the various app stores/worlds/markets etc. I recently started using an N900, which has apps on Nokia’s OVI Store as well. All the above examples besides Apple’s App Store are a complete and utter mess. If we are taking the Android Market as an example, apps are mixed with add ons, widgets, skins, themes, language packs, and a lot of other “junk” that I do not want to see when I am looking for an app.
