I think it might be time for a technology reality check. Sometimes, us geeks get caught up in technical details like the specs of a phone, the amount of apps the platform has, or even the display size of a device. Whether you are an iPhone, Android, Windows Phone, or some other platform user, you cannot deny that if there is one thing Apple does well, it’s marketing. You know, the ability to market the heck out of a device that is thicker and heavier than its predecessor and then sell millions of it. Kidding, I love my “New iPad”.

You probably remember the famous “There’s an app for that” campaign by Apple. It has since become one of those expressions normal people use in every day conversations.
It always makes me laugh when I find myself doing things the old fashioned way, despite all of the advanced technology that surrounds me. For example, I email myself a picture on my iPhone at least once a day. I will snap a picture, decide that I need it on my computer, and to save the time of syncing the phone with the computer, I will just email the picture to myself.
I do not remember any event in recent tech history that brought upon so many tweets, so much debate and analysis as the recent Facebook acquisition of Instagram for $1 billion. Everyone has what to say.
Let’s begin with a short story. A few months back, there I was, minding my own business one day at work when a mobile developer came knocking on my office door. He said, “I am developing a mobile app for iOS that is going to be the next big thing”.
