You might recall from a few weeks back that Apple has decided to recruit some mega celebrities to plug its voice assistant software, Siri. Well, if you have tried to use Siri, you surely know the Beta tag Apple has used to label it is very deserving. Or in other words, it is not all that great. Maybe that is why they need celebrities to push it so hard…

Having said that, Apple can definitely add Siri to its list of products it released that sparked a new trend in the market. What is interesting to note is that the market, mobile and PC, seems to be going in a very specific direction.

If we controlled our devices using touch, whether it was a mouse, a hardware keyboard, or a touch screen yesterday, today, it is all about gestures and other kinds of recognition technology.

The gaming consoles are the obvious examples, but let’s not forget companies like uMoove that brings full-fledged eye recognition to the mobile world. Oh, and of course, there is this.

Looks like Tom Cruise was on to something in Minority Report…
