It always makes me laugh when I find myself doing things the old fashioned way, despite all of the advanced technology that surrounds me. For example, I email myself a picture on my iPhone at least once a day. I will snap a picture, decide that I need it on my computer, and to save the time of syncing the phone with the computer, I will just email the picture to myself.

I am well aware that there are endless solutions to this very problem but none of them are as quick as simply launching the mail app on my phone and sending the picture via email. Until now.

Bump, which I have written about in the past (here and here) just quietly launched a new feature that is in danger of going viral. I first heard about it on Twitter, where else.

The concept is simple. You need a photo that is on your phone to appear on your computer? Simply launch the Bump app and tap your phone on the spacebar of your computer. Yes, that is it. The photo magically appears on the screen. It takes a few seconds to fully load and focus but as soon as it does, you can easily save the photo locally.

You have to try this out to believe it, it really is pretty magical. All you need to do is download Bump, then navigate to https://photos.bu.mp/ and you are good to go. When your browser and phone ask you whether to enable location, select yes, it enhances the whole experience.

I found that it took a few bumps for this to work perfectly, but once you get a hang of it, well let’s just say, I will not be emailing pictures to myself from now on.
