You Thought Flipoard Offered a Magazine-Like Experience on a Tablet? Check This out! (VIDEO)

These things always make me laugh. As technology advances, in many ways it really regresses. For example, as eBook readers improve, the metric by which they are assessed is how close the quality of the screen is to a real book. It reminds me of the fantastic cartoon below.

Another example is of course the tablet device, led by the iPad. The more the experience of a tablet comes naturally to the user and resembles real life interactions, the better sales the device experiences. Flipboard, for example, is by far the best app for reading content from your favorite sites and social feeds available on any device today. That goes for the iPad version as well as the iPhone app.

Why is it so great? Because a user picks it up and just gets it instantly. There is zero learning curve because what you are used to doing in a real-life magazine, you can do in Flipboard, and then some.

Well, as much as I love Flipboard, and I LOVE Flipboard (as well as its Co Founder Mike McCue), check out the Smart E-Book Interface Prototype below! But once again, this begs the question, if you really need the complete experience of turning pages and reading content like you would in a magazine…. I think you know where I am going with this.

Yes, I realize you can access much more content on an iPad than you can in a single magazine, I still find it funny that as we move forward, we are essentially moving backward.
