You Think Your iPhone Has a Solid Camera? Does it Have 31 Megapixels? Watch This!
Update: Contrary to what many people reported, this is at best a prototype and at worst, a fake. This is not something that was presented at CES 2012, but it is still an indication of where the future of mobile photography lays.

Just in case you are not convinced how fast the mobile world is moving, the evolution of mobile photography is yet another proof. I still remember getting my first Motorola RAZR with, what was it? A 1.3 mp camera. It blew my mind. “How did no one think of this years ago?” I thought. That was not so long ago and today, a mobile phone that does not have a 5 mp or more camera is considered a dinosaur. That is a fast moving market!
The mobile photography space is becoming so big on both the software and hardware fronts, that it won’t be long before a camera without a mobile phone attached to it will be thought of the same way we think of a mobile phone without a camera today (that sounded better in my head.).
Yes, I realize that most of the camera on mobile phones are still not on the level of the DSLR professional cameras out there, but again, it won’t be long.
Watch this video from the CES floor that has everyone raving about the future of mobile photography. Oh, and watch till the end. The video was uploaded one day go and has well over 300,000 views as of the time I am writing this post. Those are some pretty impressive numbers.
