Apple’s 3 New iPhone 4S Commercials: Jobs Would be Proud
By: Hillel Fuld
The latest debate on the Web is whether Apple is in trouble. If you are looking at the latest numbers, Apple might have disappointed a few analysts and were even booted out of the top smartphone vendor spot by Samsung. Some make the claim that this means trouble for Apple. Others explain why that claim is ridiculous.
Whatever the case may be, the iPhone 4S is selling like hotcakes and Apple mainly has Siri to thank for that (yes, the 4S is also faster and with a better camera, but the deteriorated battery life balances those out.)
The latest news is that hackers have managed to port Siri over to last generation devices and you can see that in action here.
Well, Apple just aired three new commercials for the iPhone 4S, one for iCloud, one for the new camera, and one for Siri. All three are pretty amazing. Android might be taking market share away from Apple and Samsung might make more smartphones, but Apple maintains the crown for the best commercials, no question about that.
Now, why do I say Jobs would be proud? Well, I have been reading the Jobs bio for a few days now and the one thing that is super clear about Steve Jobs was that he was one emotional dude. Unlike any of his competitors, designing tech involved a lot of emotion and intuition and less analysis and empirical studies.
If you have not read the bio and don’t plan on it, you might (have to) read Mona Simpson’s (Jobs’s sister) eulogy on the NY Times. Steve’s last words summed him up perfectly, “Oh, wow”, which he repeated three times.
These videos definitely speak his language, especially the kid in the Siri video asking the phone if it’s going to snow today. Nice touch, Apple.
