Tap ‘N Cap For iPhone Lets You Caption And Have Fun

I take a lot of photos with my iPhone 4. According the latest numbers from the popular photo sharing site Flickr, I am not alone either. The iPhone 4 is on the verge of becoming the most used camera for pics taken and shared on Flickr and lets be honest, that is pretty cool. Not only does the iPhone 4 take some very nice pictures with it’s built in HDR filter but there are literally thousands of camera apps to help take your pics to the next level. Some of these apps are designed for a professional looking touch and others, well, they’re just for fun. Today we are going to check out one of these fun apps, Tap ‘n Cap for iPhone. For anyone looking to add a simple caption to a photo in a creative and fun way Tap ‘n Cap may just be the app for you, at only 99 cents.

The first thing I noticed about Tap ‘n Cap was the ease of use. The set up and controls are simple, and that is quite important. Lots of times app designers want to offer you a simple function yet do it in the most drawn out ways. Not Tap ‘n Cap, you choose or snap your pic, pic a font, add up to six rows of text and boom, you are done. Tap ‘n Cap comes with 20+ fonts which makes captioning a lot of fun.

All the fonts come in both black and white which may not seem like much but if you have ever taken a very dark photo and tried to caption it with another app to discover that your only choice is a black font this will seem huge. Once you pick your font and color you can position it using your finger, scale it by pinching two fingers or rotating it by moving two fingers.

My problem with most apps like this one is the limited scope of options you are left with. With the twenty fonts, black and white color choices, and the ability to resize and place your text, Tap ‘n Cap has done a really great job of creating something that will draw you back again and again. Tap ‘n Cap allows for quick photo saving and also uploading photos directly to Facebook.

There are a few things that I wish Tap ‘n Cap supported like the ability to scale and crop photos, strike through text and custom final image size but as of my last checking of the developers web site these are coming and coming soon.

Tap ‘n Cap is silly, fun, and kind of addicting. Why don’t you try it out for yourself? It’s only 99 cents after all!
