Silent Film Director for iOS is Instagram for Video and Then Some
By: Hillel Fuld
Over the years, I have been fortunate enough to come across some pretty awesome apps before they were released to the public. Right now, I am testing out anywhere between ten and twenty apps that will be released over the next few weeks. However, there is always that one app that stands out. I am referring to apps like Flipboard, Word Lens, Instagram, and others.
The latest to join that “awesome” category is Silent Film Director by Macphun. Basically, the app does exactly what it sounds like, enables you to become a film director and add effects and professional touch ups to your videos. You can shoot a video with the app or choose an existing video and turn it into a 20’2, 30′s, 60′s, 70′s, or black and white film.
You can then easily share your creation by email or across the social Web and submit it for others who are using the app to see…
When you purchase Silent Fim Director for $1, you get the Standard version, which provides all the functionality I mentioned and enables you to render films with different video effects, add soundtracks, as well as choose speed and video quality. You can then upgrade to the Pro version from within the app. The Pro version allows you to add title cards, transitions, mix pictures with video and render separate vide fragments. The Pro version is for advanced users.
In any case, Silent Fim Director gives you the ability to create a very cool and professional-looking video in a matter of minutes and share it across the Web. You can see some samples of videos made with the app on the Youtube channel here or check out the video below.
Silent Film Director is one of the more amazing apps I have tried and it will most definitely get your Facebook friends asking “How did you make that video?”
