Friends for iPhone – The Best Social Networking Tool Out There
I know that this is the kind of problem I guess you want to have, I have a lot of friends. Not only do I have a lot of friends but I have a lot of talented friends that I want to keep up with. Some are making movies, some are making music and some are just making things interesting, regardless I like to be able to check in with them and sometimes that is all I want.
Facebook, Twitter, Myspace (yes, some people do still use Myspace) and LinkedIn are great services but the amount time consumed once I check in to one of these sites can be scary. Friends by Taptivate fixes that problem for me. Friends finds your contacts, syncs there social media accounts and allows you to see all there shenanigans in one place quickly and easily, for only $1.99.
Friends not only enhances your address book it takes it to a place that makes it iPhone worthy. The app is new and I am sure it will only get better with time but the way it allows you to interact with Twitter and Facebook is really something. On the Facebook side of things you can comment, like, read your news feed,look through photo albums and post on your friend’s wall.
On the Twitter side of things you can retweet, favorite, save to Instapaper and add media. All the features you would expect from a stand alone Facebook or Twitter app are all here.
One more thing – you can even make phone calls right from the app! If you are looking through your friends and realize you need to call one of them you can click over to a built in dialer and call them right there. The dialer is one of the best designed I have seen and the vintage key sounds are nice added touch.
