One Man’s Trash? The (Unofficial) Craigslist iPhone App

Everyone who’s ever moved from one place into a new place can probably testify that Craigslist.org is their best friend during the whole process. Have a couch you’re not taking with you? Post it, sell it, move on. Need a couch at the new place? Search it, buy it, find a friend with a truck to help you haul it.

But what about the fact that when you leave one place and move into another, you don’t have internet access right away? It’s tough to search for that perfect used kitchen table from the front seat of the U-Haul. Or what if you’re running those stock-up-on-cleaning-supplies errands at Target one weekend morning and decide you want to hit up a local garage sale?

Enter Craigsphone, the (not official) iPhone app for Craigslist.org. It’s a quick, sleek way to find out who’s selling (or buying) what in your city – at the tip of your finger tips. You can search the whole site, or browse by category, much like on the web. One thing I’d like to see that’s not there is a way to sort the results a little better (narrow down prices, etc), but for quick and dirty digging around, Craigsphone is a direct link between yourself and your neighbor’s trash and treasure.

Other features: you can post your own listing and access your account from the app. Not bad, Craigsphone. Not bad at all.
