		<description>Interesting. I am a smartphone user and I do not think desktops will become dissappear all together. i think we shall still need them for the heavier task such as graphic designs. Smart phones are only taking the communication aspect of PCs whereas PC is more than just communication of information...</description>

Home users, younger users, and students? If it hasn&#039;t already surpassed, I wouldn&#039;t be surprised to see it happen.

Other areas I could see it taking over are in professional positions that are fairly mobile and socially interactive  - sales, community development, PR, journalism, etc.

The main area where I don&#039;t see mobiles replacing desktops is in highly technical positions that require a lot of processing power, screen space, precision (or specialized) input devices, and many hours in front of the computer. Design, programming, sciences, financials, etc. A mobile device (even one as big as the iPad) is just not conducive or effective for this kind of work.</description>
