BBC Lists Appboy in its Top Websites on the Worldwide Web

With the beginning of the year and the turn of the decade, the blogesphere is overflowing with Top 10 lists. The top this of 2009 and the top that to expect in 2010.  Appboy was fortunate enough to be on one those lists, but not just any top 10 list. Kate Russel of BBC listed her top websites on the worldwide Web, and whether she meant the list to be in order of preference or not, we are thrilled to be number one on her list. You can read the article and watch the video here.

Appboy has been getting a lot of coverage lately on the interwebs, just yesterday, the internationally well known blogger, Robert Scoble referenced our CES videos post. However, the blog aside, Appboy.com really brings a lot to the table and it is no wonder we are growing at such a fast pace. In an industry that has generated 3 billion app downloads on one platform alone, and the same people who downloaded those apps are among Facebook’s 350 million users, Appboy offers the only complete solution to merge the worlds of mobile software and social media.

For a company that has existed for a short five months, to be recognized by Mashable in the Spark of Genius series, partner up with the industry leading Bestbuy on Bestbuy Mobile, and now to be mentioned by the BBC, it has been a great ride so far.

In addition, it offers “regular” people with zero development skills a chance to see their ideas develop into something concrete. How many times have you thought of what you perceived to be a killer idea for a mobile app, but never did anything about it? I know I have a whole list of them. Not everyone knows how to develop or has access to someone who does. However, most people do have internet access, right? With Appboy, anyone can submit an idea, and based on the community’s votes, have the app developed, and even receive payment for just the idea.

There is so much to be said about Appboy, but in addition to the above mentioned features, where else can developers from two ends of the globe connect in order to discuss or collaborate on a joined project? Appboy brings developers and mobile enthusiasts together and enables them to interact. If you are an app developer, jump on the Appboy wagon now and create a profile, and if you are not, but have some great ideas for development, whether on the iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm, or Android, submit the idea to Appboy and watch the idea blossom into a downloadable app.

We would of course like to thank BBC for recognizing the potential and greatness of Appboy, and we hope to continue to grow and become the place the online community looks for anything app-related. We are well on our way.
