Flick & Dodge for iPhone: Addictive and Challenging

Flick & Dodge for iPhone: Addictive and Challenging

As you probably know by now, video games are not my thing. I will take a great Twitter app over a game any day of the week. Rarely do I come across a game that is done well enough to actually pull me in and keep me playing for an extended period of time. Most of the games I have tried for iPhone are either way too complicated (they call it sophisticated) on first glance, that I do not even bother trying to learn the game.

What’s App for iPhone Provides Yet Another Reason to Get An iPhone

What’s App for iPhone Provides Yet Another Reason to Get An iPhone

As you might know if you follow me on Twitter or read Tech N’ Marketing, I am a huge BlackBerry fan. I made a conscious decision to get my BlackBerry Bold over an iPhone, and I do not regret it. Now before all you fanboys close this tab and write me off as another delusional mobile consumer, let me explain my thought process to you. There are many reasons that I prefer my Bold over an iPhone, but the primary one being the ability to run multiple background apps simultaneously. I have yet to hear a convincing argument explaining how any heavy smartphone user can have only one app running at a time.

Mashable for iPhone: All the Content You Need in One App

If you follow me on Twitter, you know by now that I am a big fan of Mashable. In fact, if you follow anyone on Twitter, you know how many people are fans of Mashable. Mashable is the Web’s top “tech blog” in terms of its traffic. The reason it is so popular is simply because the content that is posted on Mashable.com is up to date, interesting, and relevant

Virtual Zippo for iPhone: Totally Useless and Completely Awesome

Virtual Zippo for iPhone: Totally Useless and Completely Awesome

Out of the 100,000 apps in the Apple App Store (can you say that ten times fast?), there are those apps that will warn you about police traps, there are those that will enable you to stay connected at all times, there are those that will give you weather reports, and then there are those like the one we are reviewing today. The Virtual Zippo Lighter app has no use, it will not make your life any easier, and I dare you to come up with a scenario in which this app provides value. Yet it was literally one of the first apps I installed on my iPod Touch, and it is on my very first home screen till today. In fact, I will go as far as to say, it is in the top 5 apps I use most on my iPod.

Facebook for BlackBerry: Time for an Upgrade (See iPhone App for Clues)

Facebook for BlackBerry: Time for an Upgrade (See iPhone App for Clues)

One of the trademark apps of the iPhone platform is the new edition of Facebook for iPhone. It is the most popular app by far, and not only due to the popularity of Facebook, but the app itself is amazing, which drives more downloads. What is so interesting, without getting into the heated debate surrounding the different mobile platforms, is that the very same app, or at least the app that is supposed to do the same thing, is one of the worst apps on the BlackBerry platform.

WordPress 2 for iPhone Lets You Blog on the Go in Style

If you haven’t read Hillel’s review of the first version of the WordPress application, I suggest you start there. Granted, it doesn’t cover the iPhone version, but it will give you a good insight into a good app that does the job. The main difference in a nutshell is the interface: the blackberry version is very much “blackberry like” and the iPhone version, “iPhone like”.

USA Traffic & Weather for iPhone Will Give Return on Investment

USA Traffic & Weather for iPhone Will Give Return on Investment

I come a across tens if not hundreds of apps on a weekly basis, and while some are just plain dumb, others show some real initiative on the part of the developer. This app, which, in my opinion, should be renamed to something a little more “attractive” is a useful and time saving app that all residents of the US should have on their iPhones.

Interview: Danilo Campos; An iPhone Developer with A True Passion

Interview: Danilo Campos; An iPhone Developer with A True Passion

We have decided to add some variety to the things we post here, so we will be interviewing mobile developers regularly. Today, I interviewed a truly impressive individual by the name of Danilo Campos, who is living proof of the potential that iPhone development brings, both to the individual, and the market as a whole. Danilo is not one of those people who have been developers since the beginning of time, he has a business degree, and only began developing in 2005, creating products for Second Life.

Snaptu Will Make iPhone Users Want A BlackBerry

Snaptu Will Make iPhone Users Want A BlackBerry

One of the main issues I have with my BlackBerry Bold is its small amount of application memory. What this means for me is that the vast majority of apps that I download, are deleted within 24 hours. I download them, check them out, and if they are not exciting to me, I delete them. Not only did I not delete Snaptu, but I put it on my main home screen, and use it daily. It completely changed the way I use the mobile Web on my BlackBerry.

Bump for iPhone Will Change the Way We Socialize

Bump for iPhone Will Change the Way We Socialize

We reviewed the Business Card Reader a few days back, which uses the iPhone’s camera to share business cards between iPhone users. Bump is yet another innovative way to share data between two iPhone users. As cool as Business Card Reader is, Bump has it beat with the wow effect it will have on people who see the app in action. To sum up the app, two iPhone users open the app, choose what information they want to share with the other, then simply bump the hands that are holding the phone. The app seamlessly transfers the information you selected.
